Abstract

This study investigates the role of personal values as a construct linking to authentic entrepreneurial leadership from the perspective of millennial leaders. A quantitative approach was adopted using three validated instruments: the Personal Values Framework by Sagiv and Schwartz (2022), the Authentic Leadership Questionnaire by Walumbwa et al. (2008), and the ENTRELEAD scale for entrepreneurial leadership by Renko et al. (2015). These measures were selected based on theoretical associations identified in the literature and their suitability for the chosen cross-cultural context. The research addresses significant gaps in existing studies. Previous work has often relied on millennial student samples, limiting practical relevance due to participants’ lack of real-world experience. Furthermore, no prior cross-cultural study has examined the relationship between personal values and authentic entrepreneurial leadership among millennial leaders in the UK and Malaysia. Additionally, limited attention has been given to millennials as entrepreneurs, and comparative insights into the personal values of millennial leaders across these two countries remain insufficient. This study seeks to fill these gaps by providing empirical evidence on these relationships within a cross-cultural framework.
