Abstract

Professor Bob (Robert A.) Montgomery, PhD, Professor of Conservation Science and Director of the Centre for National Parks and Protected Areas at the University of Cumbria, gave a keynote address about the Innovation for Conservation (ICON) community-integrated wildlife conservation programme in Uganda. Positioned in the communities bordering Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda, the Innovation for Conservation (ICON) Partnership develops tangible mechanisms for local people to benefit from living adjacent to protected areas via innovation, technical training, and sustainability enterprise.
