Abstract

This full day symposium was on the life, work and legacies of the 20th century Cumbrian poet, playwright and topographical writer, Norman Nicholson. Meghann Hillier-Broadley, University of Cumbria PhD student, gave a presentation on her research exploring environmental issues as expressed in Nicholson's short stories and plays; her doctoral work is on 'Norman Nicholson and the Anthropocene'. The event was delivered in collaboration by the University’s Centre for National Parks & Protected Areas and the Norman Nicholson Society.
