Abstract
The guidebook was written by Jade Cookson, who completed her MA in Literature, Romanticism and the English Lake District at the University of Cumbria in November 2024 and who had begun work on the guide as part of an assessed project on her MA. The Wordsworth Way is a brand new Ullswater walking route from Glenridding to Ambleside following the path much walked by the great poet William Wordsworth. This guide book will help you navigate and enjoy the walk, with illustrations by Mark Richards. The walking trail was initially proposed by Friends of the Ullswater Way and was subsequently developed in collaboration with a range of partners, including the University of Cumbria, Wordsworth Grasmere, the Lake District National Park, and Cumbria Tourism. It begins on the shores of Ullswater at Glenridding and finishes at the University of Cumbria’s Ambleside campus. The cultural and literary heritage of the latter is celebrated in the guidebook.
