Abstract

This paper was presented at the Higher Education Academy conference on Evidence Based Practice: What does it Mean? July 2004. It summarizes work in progress and describes a
collaborative project aimed at building and utilizing: a) a scientific evidence base to demonstrate that the learning process that underlies personal development planning enriches students experiences and learning when certain conditions are satisfied; b) a database of institutional
evaluation studies aimed at producing evidence derived from studies of the effects of particular PDP policies and practices in the UK.
