Abstract

By the end of this chapter you should have: developed a critical understanding of a range of ITE selection related issues; an appreciation of the context for teacher supply, recruitment and selection; considered a range of practical examples of selection activity and processes. This chapter will draw on a wide range of practical experience in devising, using and reviewing ITE selection processes as well as international research evidence to identify the most effective ways of selecting the most suitable candidates for ITE.
