Abstract

Harriet Fraser, poet, environmental artist and current University of Cumbria doctoral researcher, will give a public talk as part of the ‘Understanding Ullswater Evening Talks’ series, run by Friends of Ullswater Way. During the evening, Harriet will reflect on last year's Watershed project, which enquired into attitudes to land use and landscape change in the Ullswater catchment, with community events and five artists sharing work in an exhibition. Harriet adds: "I'll also talk about what's been happening this year as I continue my PhD research into landscape evolution and the role of art in conversations about change. "There will be a preview of the 'on/going' poem that I have been filming around the valley: a 12-part poem with the composition of a new section each month. "Thinking about the regional and national context, I’ll also share insights from involvement in the UK-wide LUNZ Hub (Land Use for Net Zero, Nature and People).
