Abstract
Health and Society Knowledge Exchange (HASKE), based at the University of Cumbria, was commissioned by the North Cumbria Social Prescribing/Personalised Care Steering Group to evaluate the Wellbeing Walking Group based in Workington, in the district of Allerdale in Cumbria. The aim of the evaluation was to explore the walking group members’ experiences of being involved with the group and any differences it has made to their lives. The evaluation showed that the Wellbeing Walking Group is a successful social prescribing initiative that provides valuable support for people in the Workington community by enabling the group members to improve their health and wellbeing through regular exercise and social interaction with others.
