Abstract

This poster, by Delia Moisa, highlights the importance of moving away from the conventional approach of tourist segmentation based on socio-demographics. Instead, the focus is on exploring the influence of personality traits and travel motivations on visitor activities at a particular destination. Delia Moisa is a full-time doctoral researcher at the Institute of Business, Industry & Leadership, collaborating with Cumbria Tourism, the destination management organization for Cumbria. The research aim is to create a digital platform that employs industry-specific algorithms, enabling Cumbria Tourism to more accurately study, profile and predict customer behaviour, by using the concept of personality trait.
