(Contact the author)Abstract
In both reprise of and riposte to Milton Friedman's lecture of the same name (presented in Reykjavik in 1984) - this lecture presents a materialist critique of finance capital. Extrapolating from the findings of Fowler's practice-led PhD research, and with focus upon the research outcome 'Supermarket' (a Brechtian simulacrum of the conventional supermarket) the lecture applies a de-mystificatory critique of commodity fetishism and its subsequent reification (making into a thing) of value.
