This conference provides a safe space to explore issues concerning radicalisation and extremism. Speakers will discuss the changes, problems and challenges of the Prevent strategy for educators, young people, teacher educators and communities. Several initiatives will be presenting including a project providing empathic spaces for young Muslim people to engage in discussions of radicalisation and extremism, religious ideology, identity and foreign policy will be presented. Also, a project which takes participants to Northern Ireland, to learn about the troubles, former combatants and peace activists to create local solutions that do not alienate, stigmatise and marginalise communities.
