Abstract

The aim of the current paper is to consider women’s violence towards their male partners. The contrasting pattern of sex differences exists where intra-sexually, women are not as aggressive as men, but within relationships men and women are equally as likely to perpetrate aggression. This paper explores the evidence of women’s aggression, the evolutionary theoretical explanations and evidence of personality and psychopathology that is predictive of women’s aggression.
