Abstract
Located close to Bassenthwaite Lake, near Keswick, the Lake District Osprey Project has been a successful visitor attraction since it’s initiation in 2001. The project is run as a partnership between the Forestry Commission, the Lake District National Park, and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. In 2012 research was undertaken by a team of people made up of a researcher from the University of Cumbria, a researcher from Silviculture Research International, and volunteers from the Lake District Osprey Project. Between the months of May and August 231 in-depth questionnaires were completed by visitors to the Osprey project. This working paper offers an initial analysis of some of the data collected during this period.
